Music at First Presbyterian

at First Presbyterian Church of Lancaster. From the singing of our Cherub Choir through the tolling of our Tintinnabulators, God’s praise is lifted up in song every week. Learn about the exciting musical groups that will welcome you at First Church:
Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir rehearses in the Choir Room (upper level, near the elevator) and leads worship every Sunday from September through the middle of June. No prior experience necessary. If there is anything this group enjoys better than singing lessons and carols together, it has to be eating dinner together!
The Youth Choir rehearses regularly during the school year in the George Mann Room (lower level). They sing monthly in our worship services and enjoy collaborating occasionally with other youth choirs.
Junior Choir
Junior Choir rehearses regularly during the school year in the Junior Choir Room (adjacent to the Choir Room). They sing monthly in our worship services and participate in various ministry projects. Spiritual formation and learning to worship and lead in worship are the main focal points of this lively group
Cherub Choir
Rehearses Sundays during the school year. Mrs. Mekeel uses songs that help these children learn Bible stories and start stretching their voices as they sing about Jesus.
Tintinnabulators
Their name is taken from the technical term for the sounding of bells, but one probably hears equal parts bell ringing and laughter at any given rehearsal. This
group loves to have fun together and works steadily to improve their bell ringing techniques. They rehearse on Monday evenings in the bell room adjacent to the choir room.
Instrumentalists
In addition to performance opportunities within the Sunday morning services, we host The Community Orchestra of Lancaster rehearsals and its performances in our sanctuary. Email contact is conductor Janet Rawleigh.
Lancaster Oratorio Society
This group is an outreach ministry of First Presbyterian. The Chancel Choir forms the core of group. We present a Fall and a Spring concert featuring great music of the oratorio literature
Abendmusiken 2009-2010
